Daniel Samakow's paintings capture the universal sense of wonder about Southern California. A native of Pittsburgh and graduate of California Institute of the Arts, Samakow has a special fondness for palm trees, big skies and warm afternoons. Many of his works are personal snapshots inspired by walks with his dog around his Venice neighborhood and time relaxing at his Palm Springs retreat.

In addition to his work as an artist, Samakow is a well-known restaurateur who owns three beloved Venice-based eatires James' Beach, Canal Club, and Danny's.
